Vintage Design
Very elegant Italian Art Deco Mid-Century Modern chest of drawers, commode cabinet, in beautiful veneer walnut wood, 4 drawers, and decorated handles with black Portoro marble top. Portoro is a high-quality black marble, where the vast crystalline black of its base is furrowed by a spectacular burst of golden veins and white effervescences, from the region of La Spezia, right north of carrara. The unique and typical design and shapes make this a true statement piece in any interior style, Ideal in a living room as storage and bar cabinet as well as more traditional chest of drawers in a bathroom or bedroom. The Art Deco style, that preceded Hollywood Regency and thereafter Mid-Century Modern, is all about making a big statement and was considered very glamorous, elegant, functional, and modern. Softly shaped patterns and smooth angles with the generous use of gold, glass, mirror and a variety of expensive and exotic materials. In the style of Gugliemo Ulrich and Vittorio Dassi, that inspired the Italian Mid-Century Modern designers of that years such as Gio Ponti, Melchiorre Bega, Paolo Buffa and Luisa and Ico Parisi.
