Vintage Design
The sofa refers to early modernist forms of the Bauhaus period (Perriand), as well as mid-century Scandinavian designs (Nanna Ditzel), adding bold pop era concepts and unexpected fabrics. This Cobra/Pipeline sofa is in lovely condition, original upholstery with wear consistent with age and use. Trained as a saddler and upholsterer, Erik Jørgensen established his workshop in 1954 which grew out to become an international furniture brand and a family firm. In the 1980s he teamed up with designer duo Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen — today two of Scandinavia’s most renowned and successful contemporary furniture designers.
