Vintage military style virgin wool coat, made by Zelinka Matlick and sold by high end apparel store Martins of Brooklyn, most likely in the mid 50s. Made from black virgin wool, the tailoring is downright amazing on this coat! It fastens with black and silver buttons and hidden fabric-covered buttons and features slash pockets at each hip.
Super chic!
Made in the USA. Dry clean only. No size tag, fits like modern S/M. Measurements, taken flat and doubled where appropriate: shoulders – 16in, bust – 40in, waist – 35in, hips – 39in, sleeves – 22in, shoulder to hem – 41in.
Preowned/vintage (60 years old!) with some signs of use and prior wear: one button is missing from a sleeve cuff; some spots to interior lining (see last image). Coat has skinny belt loops but no belt.
