Vintage Design
This regional furniture in solid cherry wood, made around 1820, has a front with a large flap, consisting of a single panel without joint. This one has a mitered frame, it is pegged and has a doucine molding. A lock with key decorated with an iron entrance serves as an opening, in perfect working condition. Two hinges and two hooks support the flap, to note that the support part is slightly higher, sign of a revision in our workshop.
We discover an interior called stepped, with two drawers in shape and a right drawer on each side, which all buttons are iron. In the center, a niche serves as storage space, itself surrounded by four small drawers. In front of this one, one of the particularities of this piece of furniture: its small hiding place, accessible by a push-button box under the right drawer.
The front is composed of three drawers of the same height, the first one being a false one, the two others opening. The rim of the latter, with defoncement, as well as the original cut iron entrances, are details that give elegance to this chest. The knobs are later, added in the workshop. The crosspieces between each of the drawers are also molded with doucine.
The sides of the chest are composed of two recessed panels.
As for the quarter round legs, they are with a recess and end with humpbacked legs with volutes at the front, and snail-shaped at the back.
