Original, fully restored, Victorian circa 1860-1880 Burr Walnut, tilt top Chessboard games table with beautifully crafted base and marquetry inlaid top A very good looking and well made table, it can be used as an occasional table or for chess as intended, there is a backgammon board around the outside edge, the materials used are very decorative and it could be considered art furniture by todays standard. The base is turned and sculpted which rally sets it apart from other pieces Condition wise this piece is sublime, it has a wonderful period patina throughout, my French polisher has fully restored it to include having the piece washed back, its then been French polished and waxed down, it looks sublime! Dimensions as a table Height:- 72.5cm Width:- 85cm Depth:- 84cm Knee height 70.5cm Tilted:- 122cm heigh and 47cm deep, the width stays the same at 85cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.
