Handcrafted in the Languedoc fortress town of Carcassonne, this traditional earthenware baking dish was originally designed for a specific culinary purpose (a tian for baking vegetables or a cassole for cassoulet), but it doubles as a generously-sized mixing / serving bowl complete with spout and handles. Hand glazed in dark mustard yellow with some brick red accents, the interior of this rustic piece is imprinted with a cicada, the classic symbol of southern France, and impressed with ‘Fait main, France’ (Made by hand).
